Visitors to the art exhibit are encouraged to climb the stairs of perception as they seek out imagery from their personal inner worlds in “Dancing In The Light,” an exhibition currently underway at Joyman Gallery up till June 22.

This marks the 10th individual showcase for Niam Mawornkanong, a renowned artist whose paintings first engage spectators completely before encouraging them to delve into their own inner worlds.

In this exhibition, the artist fearlessly utilizes various painting methods to elicit different interpretations, showcasing their dynamic interaction with advancing understanding in a time when imagery shifts quickly and data inundates us.

He delves into using basic colors alongside glowing layers, portraying a polar bear in striking lighting conditions. With delicate handling, he employs digital primary hues—red, green, and blue—to create visuals that are gentle, evasive, and hazy, ensuring that no unnecessary elements disrupt the overall design.

This simplicity showcases his bravery in discarding superfluous elements, keeping just the core message he wants to communicate.

In this exhibit, you’ll also find “White Dust,” a distinctive collection crafted when the artist started doubting the immaculate precision of digital screens. To him, such flawless depictions seemed hollow. Instead, what he yearned for were vivid memories from days gone by—filled with creativity and happiness.

The allure of his artwork serves as the initial doorway to awakening awareness. The polar bear and other creatures symbolize an underlying reality — that the void within us is immense, and we perpetually search for fulfillment. In this quest, nature, dreams, and creativity transform into limitless domains of restoration.
