Malta’s Envoy to Ghana Endorses Continent-Leading African Creative Drive

On May 23, in Accra, the Ghana News Agency reported that Maltese Ambassador Jean Claude Galea Mallia held a significant diplomatic meeting with a Ghanaian creative team. The purpose was to discuss potential collaborations between Malta’s film and business industries and the dynamic African creative sector.

A statement sent to the Ghana News Agency in Accra mentioned that the group was headed by Mawuko Kuadzi, an acclaimed casting director who made history as the first African to claim the illustrious Artios Award during the award’s 40 years of existence.

Mawuko Kuadzi bestowed the accolade upon the ambassador, serving as an emblem for the squad’s proficiency and commitment to advancing a Pan-African creative economy.

The award, bestowed upon him due to his exceptional work in casting, underscores the increasing worldwide acknowledgment of African prowess in the realm of creative arts.

“This Artios Award isn’t merely a personal accomplishment; it’s an acknowledgment of the remarkable talents across Africa. We are prepared to present this talent on the world platform,” stated Mawuko Kuadzi at the gathering.

Accompanying Mawuko Kuadzi were Dwomoh-Doyen Benjamin, President of the African Chamber of Content Producers; veteran actor Fred Amugi; and actor and insurance consultant Peter Ritchie.

According to the announcement, the group detailed their forthcoming African film initiatives, highlighting chances for Maltese companies to participate via product placement and possible joint productions with filmmakers from Malta.

The purpose of these efforts is to encourage partnerships across different cultures that prove advantageous for all sectors involved.

According to the declaration made by Mr. Dwomoh-Doyen Benjamin, the purpose of their delegation was expressed as follows: “The aim here is to reshape Africa’s global perception using content creation with an intention to boost trading activities and investments. He emphasized the strong historical connections between Malta and Ghana, pointing out that Malta played an important part in founding the National Lottery Authority of Ghana more than six decades ago. This collaboration remains beneficial for both nations.
