A compelling and profoundly emotional art exhibit named “Bunyan Um Marsoos – Canvas ki Zubani” commenced on Friday at the Lok Virsa Art Gallery, honoring the unyielding valor and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces. This display united various art forms to convey the nation’s spirit of pride and fortitude.
Organized by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) within the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, the exhibition showcased the strength, love for homeland, and heroic acts of Pakistan’s military personnel via vivid expressions in artwork. During the inauguration ceremony, which was graced by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khichi, alongside Federal Secretary Asad Rehman Gillani, attendees included artists, scholars, former servicemen, and ordinary citizens from all walks of life.
Featuring artworks across multiple disciplines such as oil paintings, sketches, calligraphy, truck decorations, and wooden carvings—each work encapsulated profound respect and admiration towards those who safeguard the nation—the participating creators were Muhammad Farid (truck art specialist), Muzzamil (sketch artist), Irfan Butt (wood craftsman), Muhammad Kabir (calligrapher), and Muhammad Hanif Ullah (painter). Their contributions mesmerized guests with rich narratives and symbols of patriotism.
In his speech, Aurangzeb Khichi extolled the significance of the armed forces’ efforts in ensuring national prosperity and safety: “This showcase pays homage to our champions—an aesthetic acknowledgment of their heroism, dedication, and selflessness. In response to India’s provocations, both civilian leaders and soldiers acted cohesively, establishing benchmarks in collective defense.”
Khichi further highlighted that Operation Bunyan Um Marsoos had galvanized unity among Pakistani civilians, stating, ‘Their steadfastness amid adversity serves as a beacon of inspiration.’ Additionally, he expressed prayers for divine protection over these guardians just as they shield others.
He applauded the Prime Minister’s appointment of General Asim Munir to the esteemed position of Field Marshall, terming it a commendable step reflective of popular desires. Recalling instances like air force aviators drafting last testaments prior to perilous sorties underscored deeper themes of loyalty and readiness for supreme sacrifice.

He stated that the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture would create a documentary to document the endeavors of the armed forces and safeguard their heritage via media platforms. Additionally, he mentioned that the top artworks showcased at the exhibition could win an award.

Officials from Lok Virsa attended the event and showed their approval for the significant engagement from the general public. Running till May 25th, this exhibit keeps attracting sizable audiences, highlighting the country’s collective ethos and its profound respect and admiration for the arts within the military.
