Motorsport enthusiasts were not pleased with the version of the national anthem performed prior to Sunday’s Indy 500 main event.
The American vocalist and lyricist Natalie Grant sang “The Star-SpangledBanner” before the event in Indianapolis, yet she faced swift criticism online for what people deemed an unsatisfactory performance.
One user commented on X saying, ‘The performer of the national anthem was terrible,’
Another comment reads: ‘This lady performing the National Anthem is AWFUL. What a terrible rendition.’
Although some people took it further, stating: “Natalie Grant’s rendition of the National Anthem was terrible. Horrendous.”
