Sir Ian McKellen surprised attendees by showing up unexpectedly at the Scissor Sisters reunion concert at London’s O2 venue on Friday night.
The American pop band, marking two decades since their first studio album was released last year, has reunited and is currently embarked on a tour of various cities in the United Kingdom.
Audience members at The O2 went wild with applause and cheers as the 85-year-old actor made his way onto the stage to deliver spoken-word vocals for the band’s popular track, “Invisible Light.”
In his short cameo, the actor from “The Lord of the Rings” recited the monologue featured in the recorded version of the song, initially released in 2010.
Concertgoers flocked to social media to express their joy over Sir Ian’s brief appearance.

Another unexpected guest performance came from Rebecca Lucy Taylor, widely recognized by her stage name Self Esteem, who joined them for a version of “Take Your Mama.”
The ensemble – featuring frontman Jake Shears, versatile musician Babydaddy, and guitarist Del Marquis – are set to take the stage for their first live performances in 12 years.
Singer Ana Matronic opted out of joining the tour because she is currently concentrating on “other ventures,” as stated by the band.
The band has scheduled performances at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, the SSE Arena in Belfast, and 3Arena in Dublin, which are all part of their UK and Ireland tour.
The Scissor Sisters gained popularity in the early 2000s thanks to their vibrant style that merged various musical genres and their groundbreaking inclusion of LGBT+ themes in popular music.
