On May 19, Markle posted a collage of images depicting their journey on her Instagram, revealing previously unseen photographs of her, Harry, and their children. She further celebrated the occasion through As Ever’s official page. Both posts included messages from Markle commemorating her anniversary with self-wishes, prompting some internet users to ridicule her publicly.
Markle, on her own handle, wrote, “Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories. Thanks to all of you (whether by our side or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story. and her husband, Prince Harry.” In response, royal fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to troll the Duchess. A person compared Markle to a ‘high school girl’ and remarked, “Happy Anniversary to me!!!! No mention of my husband. He can be in the photos with ME!!! Meghan Markle just wished herself a Happy Anniversary! Who does that? And why is everything with sappy music? She’s like a high school girl.”
