End of Fashion Marks 20th Anniversary: Celebrating Debut Album Reissue on Tour

May 27, 2025

O—and we can’t emphasize this enough—Yeah!

End of Fashion

They have unveiled grand initiatives to mark the 20th anniversary of their eponymous first album, which was launched back in August.

The indie rock band from Perth plans to put out their self-titled album in an enhanced vinyl format and go on their inaugural nationwide headlining tour in close to ten years.

Warmly recalled amidst the mid-2000s surge of West Australian bands (like Eskimo Joe!, Little Birdy!, and Gyroscope!), End of Fashion started as the vision of lead singer.

Justin Burford

and guitarist

Rodney Aravena

, who left The Sleepy Jackson to form the band.

Launched in 2005, End of Fashion’s self-titled first album climbed to number three on the Australian charts, largely thanks to the success of ‘O Yeah’—the catchy rock track ranked eighth.

and recipient of two 2005 ARIA Awards (Best New Talent and Best Clip).

The record includes ‘Rough Diamonds,’ which reached #81 on the Hottest 100 list in 2004, an electrified version of ‘The Game,’ the indie-pop lead single ‘She’s Love,’ and ‘Lock Up Your Daughters,’ inspired by Queen.

“When we created this album, we never imagined it would still be so significant to people two decades later,” muses Burford.

Those are truly valuable presents for us, so we thought about giving something in return.

The album is getting a remaster and will be released as a two-LP colored vinyl edition that includes lyrics and archive art, along with a collage made from fans’ submitted pictures.

As much as it’s theirs, it is also ours,” states Burford. “We compiled this re-release with immense care — and numerous reminiscences.

The initial 12-song edition comes with a collection of scarce demo recordings, B-sides, and previously unshared tracks that Burford “never imagined would be made public.”

The special 20th-anniversary edition hits shelves on Friday, August 15, coinciding with End of Fashion embarking on their national tour.

The events start in Brisbane then move on to Sydney, followed by Melbourne and Adelaide, concluding in their hometown of Perth. They will perform the entire album live along with an additional set featuring beloved fan favorites.

“Within this album lies a great deal of history and an abundance of love. That love continues to resonate, and it’s truly a significant honor for us to embark on tours and convey that emotion to our audience,” remarks Burford.

We not only have the chance to honor our history, but also to showcase what’s ahead. I believe everyone will enjoy this!
