Britain’s Got Talent
Audience members are split following an unusual semi-final magic show that culminated in a spontaneous live marriage proposal.

Harry Moulding, hailing from Blackpool, started his act by vowing to ‘craft a unique magical experience for an individual in the crowd’.

Moulding subsequently requested the judges to pick a flashcard and announce a seat number to randomly choose three individuals. The respective audience members would stand up and verify their names.

Simon Cowell
was subsequently instructed to open an envelope that was given to the guest judge

At the start of the scene, and to recite it aloud.

He described it as ‘creepy’ because it included the identical three seating positions and attendee names.

The illusionist requested that each of the three spectators choose a distinct entry from the list: one celebrity name, a three-digit number, and a place.

The selected random names included Bruno Mars, 178, and Paris.

The performance started with Moulding giving flashcards to the celebrity judges Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon, and Amanda Holden.

Every card featured an array of varied entries, such as famous personalities, seating positions, global travel spots, along with three-digit numerals.

When he brought audience member Jess onto the stage, he remarked, “Jess, every decision we’ve made tonight has been entirely arbitrary, but just think about it—if I had told you that all of this would unfold 48 hours earlier, it wouldn’t have seemed feasible?”

The illusionist then played a previously recorded clip featuring him conversing with someone passing by, whom Jess identifies as her partner, Harry.

The video proceeds with Moulding questioning Harry about various topics such as whether he is hitched, the number of attendees at his potential nuptials, who would perform the first dance tune, and the location for his marriage ceremony.

Harry then walked onto the stage wearing a wedding band and declared, “I love you more than anything. Would you grant me this honor? Will you marry me?”

At the beginning of his performance, Harry seemed to misname one of the audience members, prompting various amusing remarks on social media.

@wendymaximoff posted on X: ‘I’m quite certain her name is Constance, not concert LMFAO.’

@TashAmaka added: ‘Why does he refer to Constance as “Concert”? #BritainsGotTalent #BGT.’

Next, when one of the fans got proposed to, the audience couldn’t hide their astonishment.

@mariahscracker posted on X: ‘Can you believe someone proposed during a magic show?!’

a lovely sweet moment. well done Harry. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.’

@Colabubble even mentioned: ‘Now I am teary-eyed’.

In the meantime, @Teeej333 commented: ‘Oh my gosh, how gorgeous! The big love proposal is really giving me goosebumps.’

Nevertheless, not everyone was persuaded by the seemingly random nature of the performance, since several spectators noticed significant discrepancies.

@Sutherwood asserted the act was: ‘Fraudulent Fraudulent Fraudulent.’

@Lucy86114430 also commented: ‘Wait, so if he had already met Jess’s boyfriend, then he knew which seat Jess would take? That means he anticipated where the judge would sit too, right? It wasn’t random after all then #BritainsGotTalent.’

This isn’t the first instance where BGT has found itself entangled in speculations about things not being quite right.

In an earlier episode of the series, vocalist Max Fox unexpectedly disrupted the concluding rounds of Britain’s Got Talent 2025 auditions. He emerged from the audience with the intention of performing his singing act.

The novice artist told Simon, “For 19 years, I’ve aspired to perform in front of you, but this opportunity has never presented itself before.”

He continued, asking the music and TV mogul, ‘Can you give me one opportunity?’ before insisting he could show the nation ‘what [he’s got]’.

Even though Max delivered a remarkable version of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” several audience members thought the performance was staged, which forced him to address and refute these allegations.

Max made an appearance on This Morning stating: “The previous day, I had acquired complimentary tickets for the auditions – positioned three rows away from the judging panel. In the spur of the moment, with some elderly ladies seated behind me, I questioned whether I should inquire of Simon if I could perform.”

The popular reality competition show made a return earlier this year to highlight some of the UK’s top variety talents, featuring everything from vocal powerhouses to incredible performing troupes.

After weeks of preparation, we’ve nearly finalized our list of contenders, featuring Blackouts, Vinnie McKee, Ping Pong Pang, and Hear Our Voice.

The finale of Britain’s Got Talent will air next Saturday on ITV.
