London
is a lesser-known treasure often likened to a
European coastal getaway
.
Near Halling in Kent, St Andrews Lake is a converted quarry now known as a vibrant blue lake featuring sandy shores and lakeside lounge areas.
Given its stunning azure waters, it’s easy to understand why this place has become incredibly popular, often compared to must-visit locations like the
Maldives
And along the Amalfi Coast, one might ask: “Is this truly the UK?”
However, it’s more than just a spot for sunbathing; it ranks among the nation’s premier locations for water sports.
Whether you’re into paddleboarding, kayaking, or zipping across the lake via zip lines, this is what awaits you.
What activities can you enjoy at St Andrew’s Lake?
Located in the picturesque Kent countryside, this expansive 150-acre property includes 70 acres of pristine, spring-fed water. The stunning turquoise color of the lake is due to fine chalk particles dispersed within the water.
Families, adrenaline junkies, and beach enthusiasts will all discover ample opportunities here. At the lake, activities range from paddleboarding and kayaking to canoeing and even sailing.
In the heart of the lake sits a massive inflatable water park with an obstacle course, ideal for both children and grown-ups.
Do you prefer solid ground? Besides the sandy shores near the beach, there’s also a quadrangular climbing wall and areas ideal for picnics to discover. The resort even features a wellness center designed particularly with couples in mind.
