Creative professionals in Kwara State, collaborating with the state government, have initiated a program called Kwara Kre8 aimed at fostering young talents within the community.
As stated by the organizers of the program headed by Adebisi Oyelere, this initiative—the Professionalisation of Nigeria’s Creative Sector: Possibilities, Obstacles, and Moral Implications—is set to focus primarily on photographers, filmmakers, social media influencers, content producers, storytellers, and more.
Oyelere stated that the program will concentrate on creative individuals utilizing the online domain for showcasing their work, particularly aiming to promote Kwara State’s culture, creativity, and talents worldwide.
The event is set for June 19 at the Ilorin Innovation Hub, where the minister from the Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy—Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa—is confirmed to be present at the inaugural version of Kwara Kre8.
The announcement indicated that the event would include keynote speeches from several individuals, such as Hannatu Musa Musawa, who serves as the Special Assistant on Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy for the President; Ayo Adeagbo, serving as the Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu focusing on Capacity Development; Sadiq Rabiu, another key figure in capacity development under President Bola Tinubu; and Bayo Omoboriowo, known for his role as the official photographer of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, along with various additional participants.
As per the declaration, the initiative collaborates with the Kwara State Government to equip participants with skills, knowledge, and networking chances enabling them to thrive in their creative endeavors.
It will also furnish them with industry-specific abilities and knowledge, offer mentorship and advice from seasoned experts, create chances for networking with key players in the industry, and present participants’ achievements and projects to a broader public.
