On October 23, 2024 (Sierra Leone News Agency), the World Bank Implementation Support Team commenced a two-week mission at Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL). This visit aims to assess the advancement in executing the HISWA Project and offer technical assistance for conducting the Sierra Leone Integrated Household Survey (SLIHS-2024).
The high-caliber delegation representing the World Bank Implementation Support Mission includes Senior Economist and Statistician at the World Bank, Abdoullalai Beidou, who serves as the team leader for seven (7) West African nations under the HISWA project; Senior Economist at the World Bank, Rose Mungai; and Senior Statistician at the World Bank, Gervais Yama.
Throughout their two-week assignment, the team will engage with Stats SL leadership and HISWA Project Personnel to cover several topics. These include the advancement of the HISWA Project, the outcome framework for the initiative, the present state of the Sierra Leone Integrated Household Survey (SLIHS’24), the Multi Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS-7), as well as updates on construction initiatives at the Stats SL offices.
The Harmonizing and Improving Statistics in West Africa (HISWA) project, led by the World Bank, aims to enhance and standardize the gathering of reliable and high-quality statistical information across Sierra Leone and various participating nations in Western Africa.
