Rainfall is expected to decrease across most parts of Thailand starting Sunday, following intense showers that hit various regions, including Bangkok, at the beginning of the rainy season.
On Friday, the Weather Bureau predicted a decrease in precipitation from Sunday through Thursday across much of the nation.
The rainy season has just begun, and we’ve experienced rainfall over the past few days,” stated Deputy Spokesperson Somkhuan Tonjan. “The positive development is that precipitation levels should decrease between June 1st and 6th or 7th.
The department stated that significant rainfall would likely occur over the weekend solely in the higher sections of the northern and northeastern areas, specifically affecting Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Nakhon Phanom, and Loei provinces.
In Yosothon’s Muang district, the highest rainfall in the nation was recorded on Thursday at 112 millimeters, as per the most recent report from the ministry.
The nation will observe a lengthy weekend stretching from Saturday through Tuesday. On June 3rd, which marks Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday, the administration has decided to grant an additional day off to public employees on Monday. Consequently, both the Bank of Thailand and various financial entities, along with the securities exchange, will remain closed on this day due to it being a half-yearly holiday for them.
