Stakeholders from Kwara State have indicated that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s efforts in governance have played a role in transforming the socioeconomic environment of the region.
A prominent neurosurgeon and the pro-chancellor/ chairman of the governing council at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun (FUHSI), Professor Wale Sulaiman, characterized the governor’s strategy as “deliberate and progressive” in an official declaration.
Professor Sulaiman, who praised Governor Abdulrazaq for his six-year commitment to developing the state, mentioned that different segments of society have recognized the advancements achieved under his leadership.
Sulaiman, who concurrently serves as the president of a health advocacy organization, the RNZ Foundation, stated that “Governor Abdulrazaq has demonstrated commitment to executing initiatives that establish a strong base for inclusive development and economic variety.”
He pointed out several initiatives within the administration, such as the Sugar Factory Film Studios, Kwara Innovation Hub, Visual Arts Centre, International Conference Centre, and Finance House, showcasing these as instances of endeavors designed to foster an atmosphere conducive to private sector involvement and youth development.
“These efforts demonstrate an aspiration to create enduring frameworks that can foster creativity and offer chances for the youth,” he pointed out.
Professor Sulaiman, a leading figure in global health advocacy, also emphasised the potential of Kwara’s growing investments in healthcare and agriculture, the sectors he believes can play a transformative role in the state’s future.
Through targeted investments and steady policy backing, Kwara State could become a leading destination for medical tourism and an important participant in Nigeria’s agricultural sector,” he stated, further noting that “Maintaining this progress will necessitate ongoing cooperation among different industries.
Professor Sulaiman has urged unity and dedication from everyone involved as the state looks back at its recent path. He emphasized the importance of maintaining and expanding the progress made so that future generations can reap the benefits.
Nevertheless, he urged the governor to prioritize, during the coming two years, several key sectors including employment generation, particularly for the youth; enhanced accessibility to high-quality education and healthcare via advanced technology implementation in rural regions; funding for technical and vocational training centers throughout the state; and local initiatives aimed at combating crime and instability.
