The federal government has digitized the registration and certification procedures for Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SAISSCE).
Professor Yahuza Imam, the Registrar of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), made this statement on Sunday in Kaduna when evaluating the performance of President Bola Tinubu’s government during its first two years in office.
The registrar informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that over the past two years under Tinubu’s leadership, NBAIS has seen numerous advancements in infrastructure and academics.
The Imam stated that the board digitized the SAISSCE process via online registration, candidate assessment, portfolios, outcomes, and certification.
As he stated, due to the digitized system, the institution expanded its exam centers to 91 locations, and at least 9,261 students enrolled for the Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examination (SAISSCE).
He mentioned that the fresh program was implemented during the enrollment phase for the Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examination scheduled for June/July 2025.
The Imam also mentioned that the board has made significant progress in preparing for the transition from paper-and-pencil to computer-based exams for SAISSC.
In keeping with the guidelines set forth by the National University Commission (NUC), the board moved forward with accepting SAISSCE as an equivalent to the ordinary level requirements for entry into higher education institutions.
