ICCI and BEOE Set to Sign MoU: Empowering the Nation’s Youth with In-Demand Skills

June 1, 2025

To boost job prospects and skills training for young people in Pakistan, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) along with the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE), have decided to enter into an agreement by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

This program aims to equip the nation’s young people with skills that align with market demands, thereby opening up opportunities for global job markets.

The accord was achieved when Muhammad Tayyab, the Director General of BEOE, visited the ICCI. During his trip, he conducted an extensive discussion with Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, who serves as the President of ICCI. Joining them were Muhammad Tayyab’s companions: Farrukh Jamal, also from BEOE.

DG BEOE Muhammad Tayyab highlighted the significant potential of Pakistan’s young population during his speech, emphasizing the critical role of robust connections between industries and academic institutions to harness this talent efficiently.

“The private sector plays a crucial role in fostering innovation, business expansion, and national progress,” stated DG Tayyab. “BEOE remains dedicated to backing ICCI in achieving this common objective.” Additionally, he disclosed the selection of Umar Qureshi, who serves as the Convenor of Export of Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis at ICCI, as the key contact for collaboration efforts. President of ICCI, Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, underscored the organization’s latest endeavors such as implementing an ERP system aimed at enhancing services provided to their membership base. He reaffirmed ICCI’s position as a liaison connecting governmental bodies with the private enterprise sector.

He emphasized the critical importance of providing young people with hands-on skills, allowing them to turn into employers instead of employees. “We aim to foster a cohort of business starters and improve the worldwide reputation of the green passport,” he stated.

Muhammad Ishtiaq Qureshi, who serves as the Coordinator to the President of FPCCI regarding Overseas Pakistani Affairs and heads the Human Resources department, provided additional input for this project. Also in attendance were Faheem Iqbal Chaudhary, Chairperson of the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association; Naeem Siddiqui, an advisor to the ICCI president; and others.
