The Chancellor of Lighthouse University in Evbuobanosa, near Benin City, Rev. (Dr.) Felix Omobonde, has characterized the institution as a center for academic brilliance and strict adherence to rules. The university has been granted permission by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to offer fifteen different programs.
Reverend Doctor Omobonde emphasized this point when he led journalists through a tour of the facilities, stating that “In the modern era, mediocrity has no place; thus, the university should uphold excellence as its benchmark.”
The aspiration of Lighthouse University is to cultivate individuals who will not find themselves in front of inconspicuous people but rather before monarchs and royal figures.
He emphasized that the organization should embody piety, innovation, creativity, and an eagerness for development.
He consoled Nigerians by stating that Lighthouse University, established on a strong base, has ample capability in personnel, setting, and resources to fulfill its aim of transforming the academic enclave into an internationally renowned center of learning.
We did not arrive here by chance. We have put in effort and will keep striving to achieve greatness, ensuring that the Lighthouse University is strategically placed to rival not only the top institutions in Nigeria but also excel among the finest universities worldwide.
Although recognizing that the institute’s expansion is gradual, Omobude committed to ongoing enhancements in resources and educational quality. He also urged the students to serve as the university’s finest representatives.

By highlighting the cutting-edge facilities and physical infrastructure at Lighthouse University, Vice Chancellor Professor Anthony Imianvan revealed that the institution has thus far gained approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to offer 15 programs.
The validated programs by the NUC encompass the following: Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Bachelor of Science in Political Science, Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Science Laboratory Technology, Bachelor of Science in Sociology, Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Security Studies, Bachelor of Science in International Relations and Diplomacy, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Highlighting the cutting-edge facilities such as auditoriums, an electronic library, a well-stocked traditional library stocked with contemporary textbooks, specialized labs for microbiology, physics, and chemistry, along with workshops for machinery and mechanical/electrical engineering, as well as accommodations for both male and female students, a medical center, and many additional amenities, Professor Imianvan encouraged parents and guardians to choose Lighthouse University Evbuobanosa for their children’s education by enrolling them at this institution.
Several students who talked to reporters exclaimed, “I am extremely delighted; indeed, I feel fortunate to be among the inaugural batch of students at Lighthouse University in Evbuobanosa near Benin City.” One of these pioneering students shared their thoughts with journalists visiting from Benin City, Edo State.
The clearly delighted Aimuamwosa Nosa Joshua, a political science undergraduate at the institution, addressed his fellow students and expressed abundant appreciation towards the administration for founding the university. He highlighted how the establishment effectively addresses both the educational and ethical requirements of its pupils.

Miss Osayande Chukwudumebi, an accounting student at Lighthouse University, supported the opinions shared by Aimuamwosa Nosa Joshua. She mentioned that the university stays current with educational resources and noted that the faculty members are highly competent.
I traveled all the way from Lagos to attend Lighthouse University, located close to Benin City, with the intention of gaining knowledge. I specifically chose Lighthouse University due to its exceptional educational standards and quality; additionally, it was founded by Reverend Dr. Felix Omobode, an esteemed spiritual leader whose vision ensures that students receive comprehensive training here. This education equips them not only for personal success but also to make significant contributions to their communities and beyond.

During the facility tour, the University’s Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor were joined by key members of the senior administration team such as the Registrar, Mr. Olugbenga Olajide, and the Bursar, Dr. Dominic Eichie.
