Over 7,000 students commenced Spain’s University Entrance Exam (PAU) this week at various locations associated with the University of Granada (UGR), which includes seven sites in Morocco. The exam was previously referred to as “selectividad.”
The examinations provide a crucial chance for pupils from Spanish institutions in Morocco who wish to further their studies in Spain.
As per the official announcement from UGR, examinations take place at 34 locations in Granada as well as in the Spanish territories of Ceuta and Melilla, and in Morocco. This coordination involves both Spain’s Ministry of Education and the Spanish Embassy’s Educational Office in Morocco.
This effort showcases the strong educational connections between the two nations.
The students hail from various origins, including Spanish individuals residing in Morocco, those with dual citizenship, and Moroccan learners who are part of the Spanish educational system.
The top choices among students are Spanish Language and Literature II (selected by 5,739 applicants), along with Applied Mathematics for Social Sciences II.
Morocco’s involvement underscores its increasing significance as a link for education connecting Europe and North Africa, strengthening student movement and collaboration among regions.
