He wrote affectionately, ‘Princess aspirations 💛.’
In the meantime, Gary has not posted any of his personal content related to the celebrations or responded to Wayne’s social media posts.
Regarding the origins of their alleged rivalry, it traces back to 2008, when Gary took Danielle to Ibiza for a family vacation.
In an interview with The Sun in April 2015, Wayne reflected: “As far as I’m concerned, Danielle was responsible for causing a rift between my brother and me.”
‘Sadly, Gary is no longer in my life,’ he admitted.
In August 2008, they arrived in Ibiza, and things were quite uncomfortable. There wasn’t a connection between me and Danielle, and our interaction remained distant.
It’s thought that their regular phone calls and home visits stopped after that point, as Wayne stated that the chilly ambiance created tension. He mentioned that Danielle kept to herself, staying in her room on the initial day and refraining from socializing during nighttime activities.
He claims they didn’t have any discussions throughout the journey.
As a result, Wayne was absent from Gary and Danielle’s wedding ceremony, even though he had served as the best man for Gary during his initial marriage to Michelle Cockayne back in 1986.
Wayne declined to attend since his girlfriend of 18 months at the time, Ana Tanaka, did not receive an invitation either.
‘She was a wonderful, well-mannered young woman, definitely not just a short-term fling,’ Wayne had previously stated.
The club owner states that he has strived to foster connections over the years, such as organizing events for Gary’s 50th birthday celebration.
Nevertheless, their conversation over the phone was brief, lasting only a few moments.
‘I wouldn’t mind at all if he called me tomorrow to arrange a lunch meeting to discuss this, but I doubt it will happen,’ Wayne stated.
In January 2016, Gary and Danielle made public their decision to divorce, citing Gary’s desire for additional children as something she was unwilling to accommodate.
From the viewpoint of the footballer from Leicester, it was alleged at one point that he disapproved of Wayne’s way of life.
In a 2015 interview, Wayne’s longtime friend and ex-public relations consultant, Neil Deal, stated: “Gary was somewhat troubled by Wayne’s penchant for a wild party life.”
‘He and his brother got along fine, yet their perspectives were vastly different.’
As Gary gained prominence in sports and television, Wayne appeared to gravitate towards a more wild lifestyle as compensation, causing their relationship to gradually deteriorate.
The most recent remarks from either sibling regarding the issue were made by Wayne in 2017, at which time he indicated that their relationship had improved somewhat.
In an interview with The Sunday Mirror, he disclosed that they had resumed conversations.
‘We have changed significantly over the years, yet our communication has increased,’ he mentioned, further stating that they were ‘gradually reaching their destination.’
‘It holds great significance because he’s my brother. Our bond was incredibly strong. We would often play golf twice a week, visit one another at home, and talk daily over the phone.’
Despite this, Wayne maintains a strong bond with Gary’s boys—George, Harry, Angus, and Tobias—who frequently travel to meet him in Ibiza. Notably, George makes the trip specially three times each year.
All the boys are great; they’re all crazy and enjoy drinking, loving girls, which isn’t a bad thing,” Wayne once shared. “But as for my boys—can you imagine?… Dwayne, who’s the oldest, is similar to Gary. He acts more like the head of our family rather than me.
My son ultimately takes care of me. I might find myself on the streets of San Antonio at 7 am, making a fool of myself, and he would then come along and ask, ‘Dad, what are you doing?’
Wayne has likewise claimed that he is Gary’s ‘top supporter,’ playfully stating that he has become quite adept at presenting nowadays, considering how terrible he was when he began.
Last month,
Gary concluded his tenure as host of Match of the Day.
One final time, after presenting the BBC highlight show
for 26 years
and settled comfortably into her role as the team’s top earner with an annual salary of £1.4 million.
