Addressing the show host, Lizzie stated: “I participated in those pageants, I completed them, and I’ve served as a judge numerous times for Miss England.”

I’m sad that she didn’t enjoy her experience, but I know numerous women for whom it was truly amazing—propelling their careers forward, providing ample opportunities, allowing them to engage in significant charitable activities, and making some of the best memories of their lives.

I served as a judge at the Miss England pageant when Danny Jones from the band McFly’s spouse, Georgia—who had profound hearing loss—won. She found it challenging to advance in modeling due to her condition. Winning Miss England presented a significant chance for her advancement.

She proceeded to accomplish remarkable achievements and also made significant contributions to charitable causes.

Lizzie stood up for the contest following criticism in recent days, after a Miss World participant found herself at the center of an exploitation controversy. She alleged that the organizers used her as amusement for affluent investors.

Milla Magee, who currently holds the title of Miss England, has announced her participation in the Miss World 2025 competition with the aim of advocating for her initiative to include CPR training in the school syllabus.

But prior to her departure before the big finale in
India
On Saturday, she stated that she believed she had been exploited.

It is thought that she mentioned they and the other women were being utilized as entertainment for investors as a form of ‘thanks,’
Guardian
first reported.

Regarding the allegations, Miss World addressed the ‘incorrect and slanderous remarks’ and stated that they were ‘entirely baseless and not in line with what actually happened during her tenure with them’.

The organization’s CEO, Julia Morley, allegedly stated in an interview with The Hindu newspaper that Milla departed as she felt she had “no opportunity” to succeed in the contest.

The director of Miss England, Angie Beasley, stated in a release: “Beauty With A Purpose serves as a charitable cause rather than a ‘motto,’ established by Julia Morley CBE. Julia holds the position of Chairman and CEO at the Miss World organization.”

The organization aims at assisting underprivileged children and youth globally via numerous programs and ventures. This serves as a stage for empowering young females to create an impact by mobilizing resources and visibility towards issues they care deeply about.

Securing a national crown such as Miss England provides participants with an expanded stage to advocate for their causes. At Miss World 2025 held in Hyderabad, India, Miss Wales, Millie-Mae Adams, was honored with the Beauty with a Purpose Award for Europe for her impactful campaign titled ‘First Aid Against Knife Crime.’

The previous Miss England champion, Jessica Gagen, advocated for ‘Women in STEM’ throughout her reign and secured a spot in the top 8 at Miss World, also claiming the Miss World Europe 2024 crown.

The organizers put in relentless effort to assist our winners in promoting their projects within their respective countries throughout the year, as I have personally done for Milla Magee.

Throughout the year when Milla had the Miss England title, I supported her CPR project personally and promoted it through the Miss England platform because I believe it’s an excellent initiative. We continue to support our national winners similarly nowadays if they have a passion for their projects since these efforts generally spread positive messages on social media—a necessity in today’s world.

We included CPR awareness as a segment in the subsequent Miss England competition because of Milla’s initiative emphasizing the importance of CPR training throughout England, reaching many participants.

Milla stated: ‘Julia’s comment was spiteful and extremely harsh. Furthermore, it was an absurd thing to say.’

I departed not because I believed I would lose, but because I chose to uphold my principles, which were at odds with my values.

‘I wouldn’t want another young girl to watch my journey over the last year and then enter this system only to face the same difficulties.’

She stated: “I felt as though I had been presented with an inaccurate portrayal of this system, which advocates for ‘beauty with a purpose,’ claiming to focus on activism and the causes one supports.”

Milla asserted that she discovered they and the other women were present due to their appearances and intended to entertain visitors, with few chances offered to advance their selected causes.

In an accusation, the participant stated that a male individual came close to her and remarked, “The next time I am in London or England, set me up.” This comment made Milla feel uneasy.

She mentioned that numerous messages have been sent her way by women who have participated in similar events, all sharing that they experienced identical feelings.

MailOnline reached out to Milla and Miss World for their input.
