The well-known entrepreneur and industrialist Ibrahim Mahama has openly praised Dr Osei Kwame Despite, calling him a genuine person of wealth.
In a video, the distinguished Ghanaian entrepreneur offered praise-filled tributes to Dr. Despite, stating that his riches were acquired legitimately.
This uncommon accolade was bestowed during the inauguration of the Despite Automobile Museum and Showroom in Accra over the weekend.
This prominent gathering assembled key personalities from Ghana’s corporate world, cultural scene, and chieftaincy domains.
One of the notable attendees was Ibrahim Mahama, the founder of Engineers and Planners and a prominent figure in African business enterprise.
While taking a photo with Osei Kwame Despite, Ibrahim Mahama bestowed praise on him.
He stated in a video that went viral online, ‘There are no buddy joins here, no excavator funds either; this is real money.’
A number of people from Ghana have understood Ibrahim Mahama’s statement as a criticism directed towards Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) also known as Chairman Wontumi. He stands accused of being involved in unauthorized mining activities.
The beleaguered NPP chairperson continues to be held in custody following their arrest on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, when they appeared at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Accra.
