Recently, her son Maximilian Paul, known on Instagram as Simba, shared his surprise upon discovering that he had appeared in one of his mother’s classic songs, Amezaliwa Horini.
In a brief clip, Simba conveyed his astonishment:
“I stumbled upon one of my mom’s old songs. I had no idea I was featured in it. It completely slipped my mind that I was part of this track. Man, I was really giving it everything back then. Do you see that child in the video? Yeah, that was me,” he explained as he pointed at the music video displayed on the television attached to his wall.

“Indeed, I feel a great sense of pride… This is among the limited recordings I have alongside my mother, and having this moment captured on her most successful album brings me immense happiness. It truly stands out as one of my fondest memories,” the young man stated.
Currently, Simba is a second-year undergraduate at the University of Dar es Salaam, where he is studying for a degree in Geology.
He likewise paused to express gratitude towards the Kenyan fans for their ongoing backing of his famous mother.
I’m grateful for the support and kindness shown to my mother. Everything from the streams, views, and performances is what sustains me. Therefore, I have immense appreciation for them and consider them truly awesome.
When asked about his spiritual path, Simba affirmed that he has been reborn, though he also elaborated:
Indeed, I am, yet I am not my mother, and others shouldn’t assume I will be just like her. Although her advice and lessons hold great significance for me, I must carve out my own journey.
Some fans noted Simba’s fluent English and wondered if he had been raised outside Tanzania.
He explained:
“I am Tanzanian, born and raised. I attended a certain international school when I was young, and it sharpened my English, I think. But other than that, it’s just my favourite way of communicating, and the people I am associated with also have the same style. Practice makes perfect.”
