Burna Boy, the Nigerian Afrobeat artist, has responded to the backlash after he declared plans for a complimentary show in Burkina Faso.
A Grammy-winning musician encountered criticism from certain reviewers who ridiculed the project and erroneously stated that the leader of Burkina Faso turned down their proposal.
On an Instagram Story, Burna Boy stood up for his intentions, stressing that his deeds stem from values instead of self-interest.
“I have nothing to gain from anybody. I don’t owe anyone anything, but that never stopped me from doing the great work I do. My integrity is unquestionable. Therefore burn in hell if you said anything negative,” he wrote.
