‘Lilo & Stitch’ Surpasses ‘Sinners’ in Box Office Triumph

Pakistan, June 3 — The live-action adaptation of ‘Lilo & Stitch’ from Disney has surpassed Ryan Coogler’s box office hit ‘Sinners,’ making it the second-highest grossing film of the year.

Following its record-breaking performance over the Memorial Day weekend, Disney’s live-action adaptation of the classic animated science-fiction comedy “Lilo & Stitch” continues to reign supreme at the box office for another week. It earned an additional $63 million domestically in its second weekend, maintaining its dominant position.

The figure was high enough to place the film starring Maia Kealoha above Coogler’s supernatural horror movie ‘Sinners,’ which earned $280.1 million in domestic box office receipts, making it the second highest-earning film of 2025.

In the meantime, around the world, the comedy film has raked in $610.8 million during its initial 10 days of release.

Regarding ‘Sinners,’ which has now been out for eight weeks, it garnered an additional $5.2 million globally during the last weekend, bringing its total earnings to $350.1 million.

In addition to those mentioned, the movie theaters were brimming with audience members eager to see Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’, Jackie Chan’s family-oriented film ‘The Karate Kid: Legends’, along with the horror flick ‘Bring Her Back’.

The eighth installment of ‘Mission: Impossible’ remained in second place, earning $27.3 million domestically. Meanwhile, the newest addition to ‘The Karate Kid’ series and ‘Bring Her Back’ garnered $21 million and $7.1 million, respectively. Additionally, ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ earned $10.8 million during its third week in theaters.
