On June 3, from Pakistan, it was reported that Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney shared her experience of facing the toughest challenges from other women within the entertainment business.
During an interview with a UK-based magazine, actress-turned-film-producer Sydney Sweeney discussed her experiences with casting challenges following her role as Cassie Howard in the popular HBO series ‘Euphoria.’ She revealed that she often faces difficulties primarily from women within the industry. Describing herself as both direct and blunt, Sweeney shared candidly, “Honestly, it’s usually the women who make things most difficult for me.”
“I often encounter situations where people dismiss me for a role after watching Cassie in ‘Euphoria.’ This is particularly due to Cassie being portrayed as highly sexualized, which creates barriers,” she explained further. “It feels like I always have to emphasize that I’m an actor who can take on various distinct roles.”
“I must establish my credibility as a young actress, as a performer, and as an entrepreneur—across all these roles. I feel compelled to assert that I aspire to be present in every discussion, attend each meeting, and play a part in making every choice. It’s crucial for me to gain respect as a producer,” she stated.
In her professional life, Sydney Sweeney is looking forward to the debut of Michael Pearce’s suspense film ‘Echo Valley,’ featuring Julianne Moore, Domhnall Gleeson, Kyle MacLachlan, and Fiona Shaw. This movie is set to premiere theatrically on a restricted basis starting June 6, followed by availability on the streaming service Apple TV+ from June 13 onwards.
