Olubadan Set to Install Prince Giwa as New Mogaji of Aliiwo Royal Family on Monday

A solicitor from the United Kingdom named Prince Kamaldeen Giwa will assume the role of Mogaji for the Aliiwo Royal Family on Monday.

The installation ritual will take place under the direction of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, at his residence located in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.

After the demise of the former Olubadan, Oba Olalekan Balogun, Ali-Okunmade II, Prince Giwa will take over as the leader of the Aliiwo Royal Family.

The latest Mogaji is the 10th individual to arise from the royal lineage since 1877, when Amodu Ejalonibu initially took up the title of Mogaji-Agba within the family.

The gathering on Monday will see the participation of descendants of Aliiwo both local and those from the Diaspora.

A welcome ceremony for the newly appointed Mogaji will be held afterwards at the Aliwo Palace located at Agodi Gate, Ibadan.

Prince Kamaldeen Giwa, born in the UK during the early 1970s, completed his primary and secondary schooling at The Polytechnic Staff School and The Polytechnic High School in Ibadan.

He had his first degree in Sociology at the University of Lagos in 1993 and proceeded to have another degree in Law at the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom.

Prince Giwa served the UK government for more than twenty years and holds the position of solicitor at the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

He serves as a leader at a prominent legal practice in the UK and holds several business ventures across Africa and Europe.

The newly appointed Mogaji is notable for his charitable efforts, particularly in promoting education, fighting poverty, and improving access to justice.

He enjoys traveling and safeguarding traditional African architectural heritage.
