The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, expressed deep admiration for the boundless affection, sacrifices, and steadfast support provided by parents, referring to them as “a refreshing shelter amidst the scorching heat of life.” On the occasion of the Global Day for Parents, Ms. Sharif highlighted how this unselfish devotion forms the bedrock of her existence, stating, “Parents’ selflessness stands as a divine gift that molds one’s identity and aids during each stage of living.” For her, respecting parents goes beyond being merely obligatory; it serves both as a directive from God almighty and follows His prophet Muhammad’s teachings (peace be upon him) while also serving as a fundamental aspect of eastern societal norms.
Emphasizing the pivotal position parents hold within familial structures, she articulated that dwelling devoid of parenthood amounts only to having walls made of stones rather than true homes—yet when present, they convert humble abodes into heavenly realms where achievements become possible due largely to these individuals. Recalling personal milestones reached thus far, she attributed much credit to her supportive kin who offered continual encouragement via prayerful wishes along with practical direction throughout childhood years: “All accomplishments attained so far owe greatly to my beloved parentage.”
In light of promoting harmonious communities built around mutual reverence between generations, Ms. Sharif encouraged citizens nationwide towards practicing deference alongside caregiving duties owed specifically toward elders at home. Furthermore, fostering robust ties among immediate relatives remains crucial according to her beliefs since such connections foster empathy across broader social networks too.
She fervently wished protection over those cherished relationships declaring, “I pray Almighty allows continued guardianship bestowed by dear ones onto younger members,” before denouncing recent acts violence perpetrated recently labeling them outright assaults against peace instigated under false pretenses linked back historically speaking to regional conflicts known colloquially perhaps as ‘Fitna ul Hindustan’.

On Sunday, a statement was released where the Chief Minister conveyed profound grief regarding the martyrdom of ADCR Hidayat Buledi, who valiantly gave up his life while performing his duties and protecting the country. The chief minister honored the fallen officer saying, “Through his ultimate sacrifice, Hidayat Buledi penned an indelible story of dedication towards his responsibilities.” He further noted that this courage and commitment serve as sources of national pride.
Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her administration’s steadfast determination to unite against terrorism and protect Pakistan’s sovereignty. She stressed that these despicable actions would fail to diminish the collective strength and resilience of the people. Maryam also offered her deepest sympathies to the grieving family of the deceased officer, asserting, “Our pursuit of justice for those responsible sends a strong signal: Pakistan’s heroic defenders will remain unwavering in their stance against terror.”
