Anambra: Police Nab Suspects in Bank Manager’s Murder

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in the kidnapping and killing of a female bank manager in Onitsha.

As stated by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects—Monday Egbe, aged 32, and Kenneth Nnoga, aged 28—were located at their hiding place in a nearby state following a thorough investigation.

The individuals are charged with abducting the bank manager, extorting ₦14 million from her relatives as ransom, and subsequently killing her in an extremely violent manner.

The lifeless body of the victim was found on January 13, 2025, along Nnobi Road, with her eyes bound, highlighting the vicious nature of the crime.

The suspects are presently being questioned as law enforcement strives to reveal further information regarding the activities of the criminal group and to locate and arrest more individuals associated with them.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has reiterated the Command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and properties throughout Anambra. He assured the community that the investigation will be carried forward until a reasonable resolution is reached, ensuring that justice prevails.
