The South African government has confirmed with “great sorrow” the passing of
Kim Towne from South Africa
, who was murdered by her spouse, Alexander Towne, in the United States recently.
The belief is that this event took place in West Virginia.
The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, has offered his sympathies to the family who lost their loved one.
According to a statement from Lamola’s spokesperson, Chrispin Phiri, the South African embassy in Washington, D.C., is offering comprehensive consular support to the family.
The conditions around this unfortunate demise continue to be investigated by the appropriate U.S. agencies.
“Given the active investigation, the sensitive nature of the issue, and respecting the privacy of the bereaved family, the South African Government will refrain from offering additional detailed comments at present,” stated Lamola.
In an interview with IOL, AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel expressed deep concern over the incident, offering his sincere condolences to the family affected.
When questioned about receiving any official communication or correspondence from U.S. authorities, Kriel stated: “Even the South African government does not inform us about the significant number of cases where individuals are killed or subjected to torture on South African farms.”
I fail to understand why a foreign government would inform us about an incident unrelated to the activities of AfriForum.
Last week, IOL reported that the person died from strangulation following an argument at home.
Her spouse has been accused of manslaughter.
The Fairfax County Police issued a statement indicating that Alexander was arrested and remanded without bail after the death of Kim, who hails from Cape Town, South Africa.
On May 24 at 7:48 PM, law enforcement officials were called to handle a domestic dispute within a home located on Bromall Court in Chantilly.
The accused stated that he had attacked and murdered his spouse.
The police mentioned that the victim was discovered with injuries to her upper body and was pronounced dead at the location where she was found.
