The former senator of Kogi West, Smart Adeyemi, has mourned the loss of his mother, Victoria Adeyemi.
PUNCH Online learned that she passed away on Wednesday morning at her home in Abuja.
Dr. Aliyu Badaki, the National President of Iyara Development Association, issued a statement on Thursday expressing that the Iyara community has suffered the loss of a revered matriarch, accomplished entrepreneur, and exemplary mother.
Badaki announced, “It is with great solemnity that we share the joyful departure of our beloved grandmother, mother, Mrs Victoria Oyeyemi Adeyemi (née Ibilola). Her memory will forever remain alive through her dedication and enthusiasm toward advancing Iyara.”
He conveyed the community’s sympathies to Adeyemi and the family regarding the sad loss, hoping that God would grant her everlasting peace.
“May her spirit find eternal peace. We extend our deepest sympathies to the whole family, particularly to the Honorable Senator Smart Adeyemi and to the community at large. Farewell, dear lady,” the statement concluded.
Once our correspondent reached out to the ex-Senator, he just expressed his gratitude for the message received.
When asked to verify the progress, the senator responded, “Thank you very much, and may God bless you.”
