Brussels [Belgium], June 5 (ANI): The
all-party delegation
Led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, an interaction occurred between members of the European Parliament (MEPs), including those from the delegation focused on India’s relations, the Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Security and Defence panel. This visit aims to redirect focus towards combating terrorism after Operation Sindoor—a military action initiated by Indian forces as revenge for the Pahalgam terror strike. Following discussions with the second group, Garima Mohan from the German Marshall Fund shared her reflections with ANI: “Gaining insight into viewpoints spanning various sectors within the Indian political landscape proved enlightening. Due to current challenges faced by the European media industry, reports about Operation Sindoor haven’t garnered significant coverage here. Hence, learning more details surrounding the operation, along with potential impacts and future policies influenced thereby, became particularly meaningful.” Jan Luykx, a senior associate at the Egmont Institute and ex-envoy to India, echoed similar sentiments post-meeting with the same group when he conveyed his remarks via ANI: “The primary messages emphasized several crucial aspects concerning recent events in Kashmir and the tragic assault in Pahalgam. A wealth of data and analysis has come forth which will undoubtedly enrich our comprehension of India’s growing international standing alongside efforts aimed at eradicating terrorism globally. Everyone felt profoundly shaken up by what transpired during the Pahalgam event; countless innocents perished without provocation.”
Angelika Niebler—Member of the European Parliament and head of the committee overseeing ties with India—informed ANI she found value in receiving firsthand accounts directly from the Indian contingent: “We express profound gratitude for them taking time out to articulate their stance clearly amidst such trying times domestically. Solidarity remains unwavering among us vis-a-vis affected parties involved in these atrocious acts…”
Simultaneously touring Europe diplomatically under leadership provided once again by BJP’s Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, another cross-party assembly comprising parliamentarians engaged actively with fellow Indians residing abroad based primarily around Brussels’ locale whilst voicing sharp criticisms…
