A woman from Pittsburgh was shocked when she found out that the person in her mother’s hospital bed was actually an unfamiliar individual.
Gloria Corrado was due to be moved from UPMC Presbyterian to UPMC Mercy Rehab on Friday at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
When her daughter Rae Corrado came to visit her, she was guided to a room where they said her mother was located.
Corrado said, “‘The nurses at the station informed me, ‘Your mother has arrived.'”

Corrado was astonished when he discovered a mysterious woman sporting a wristband bearing his mother’s name.
“I rushed back and exclaimed, ‘That’s not my mother,'” she recounted.
However, the staff firmly believed that the patient was indeed Corrado’s mother due to the name on her wristband.
She went on, saying, “I told him, ‘It doesn’t matter what he did; she’s not my mother.’”
Corrado informed the outlet that the woman with the wristband might be experiencing dementia and was disoriented by the circumstances. Additionally, Corrado, who was equally distressed, frantically searched for her mother.
After praying in the chapel, she reached out to hospital personnel at UPMC Presbyterian and learned that Gloria was still waiting for her transfer as late as 7 PM.
Gloria didn’t reach the hospital until four more hours had passed.
Corrado recounted, “They bring my mother in, and she remarks, ‘I have been searching for you; did you get misplaced?’ To which I respond, ‘Mom, actually, you were the one who was lost. I’ve been trying to find you.'”
Gloria subsequently shared the chilling account of awaiting her move to the new location.
“I was strapped to a stretcher. I had no mobility. For hours, I could barely move my feet, not to mention my entire body. All the time, I kept thinking, ‘This must be illegal,'” she said tearfully.
“I can’t understand how a patient could be missing for hours,” Gloria remarked, remembering that she had been informed about several incidents causing the disruption and delay.
Currently, Corrado is concerned about the mysterious woman who was named after her mother and is lying in the hospital bed.
‘I’ve had enough of UPMC,’ Gloria stated.
