Media figure Natalie Githinji has written an emotional homage to her late friend Njambi Koikai, also known as Fayah Mammah.
Njambi, who had long battled endometriosis, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
Tuesday, June 3, 2025, marked exactly a year since her death, but, indeed, she has not been forgotten.
Natalie, a close friend of Njambi, shared memories of her in a post.
The ex-NRG Radio presenter disclosed that she hasn’t recovered from the anguish of losing her friend, Njambi.
She shared how her feelings were stirred when a stranger brought up Njambi’s name in front of her.
Twelve months have passed, yet I’m unable to let go of that memory. Another year gone, but the hurt remains. Last Friday, while browsing at a store, Gmoney’s mixtape started playing, and he mentioned your name…. Suddenly, someone nearby remarked ‘Jahmby Koikai Fayah mammah,’ which felt like an abrupt stab in my heart…. It dawned upon me then that I hadn’t fully recovered; my heart continues to ache.
The media figure further disclosed that Njambi provided her with direction and demonstrated what hope entails.
“Still numb, but I celebrate you today, Sis, you gave me purpose and showed me what HOPE looks like. A WARRIOR forever. Continue resting mummy. I love you, Jahmby,” she added.
