During an interview about his forthcoming project, K1 mentioned that his mother was the one who instructed him in the fundamentals of music.
He mentioned that despite her talent and enthusiasm for the art, she was unable to follow this career path due to specific constraints.
“The song ‘Mama’ is dedicated to my mother, who imparted to me the fundamentals of music and vocals. She was a singer herself and a royal by birth; however, due to being the daughter of an incumbent king, she wasn’t able to showcase her musical abilities. Additionally, societal expectations pressured her into marriage,” he clarified.
K1 also emphasized the significance of the track for himself. He mentioned that the song was created as a tribute to his deceased mother.
“My mother’s gift was bestowed upon me by God. She passed this ability to me and frequently acted as my composer throughout her life. Her efforts significantly contributed to my musical growth. Therefore, I believe it is fitting for me to honor her memory and create a blessing in her name,” he stated.
