Ileya Celebration: Olori Afolabi Launches Food Bank, Distributes Rice in Apomu

, has distributed 150 bags of 50 kg rice to the residents of Apomu in Osun State for the celebration of the Ileya festival.

She mentioned that the food distribution was initiated to address the urgent problem of hunger in rural areas.

“It is aimed at providing immediate relief to those in need and support rural families. Every package of rice represents moments of relief.

When distributing food, we aren’t merely addressing a fundamental requirement; we’re extending compassion, care, and kindness,” she remarked. “We aren’t simply satisfying hunger pangs—we’re instilling hope into people’s lives. Every gesture of goodwill, regardless of its size, has the potential for significant influence.

The rice distribution took place during the inauguration of the Olori Janet Afolabi Foundation Food Bank on June 3 at the Alapomu Palace in Apomu, which serves as the headquarters for the Isokan Local Government Area in Osun State.
