At a colorful Dragon Boat Festival organized by a local community in Nanjing, Pakistani students highlighted their rich culinary heritage as part of an initiative promoting cross-cultural understanding. This gathering united international students hailing from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, Cameroon, and Nigeria with Chinese peers and locals to build friendships over shared meals, arts, and festivities. According to Gwadar Pro’s report released on Tuesday, seven skilled Pakistani students contributed significantly to this occasion; among these participants, three played pivotal roles in crafting traditional delicacies.
Haider Alam, studying at Nanjing University of Technology, prepared aromatic Chicken Masala Curry, which garnered praise for its flavor. Meanwhile, Khan Kashif and Zaid, who attend Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, presented delectable crispy samosas—another hit dish amongst guests. Speaking enthusiastically about sharing his nation’s cuisine, Kashif remarked, “Samosas carry spicy potato fillings inside just like zongzi envelops sweet rice within—they each encapsulate deep-seated cultural pride.”
“It was truly gratifying witnessing individuals from various backgrounds savoring our cuisines and showing keen interest in learning more about Pakistan,” he added. “Our aim was simply to offer all present here a small yet profound glimpse into the essence of Pakistani hospitality.”
